Grow Garden Grow

A while back we {by we I mean Brandon & the boys} planted a garden. Brandon built the boxes and fence and the boys planted the seeds. Some of the veggies & herbs are growing quite well, others not so much. The fence was meant to, obviously, keep little ones and 4 legged furries out. Well......an adorable 2 year old LOVES letting the 4 legged furries into the garden so then he can fuss at them to get out. It is really cute! But between the 3 of them {4 legged furries & 2 yr old} they have trampled and dug up a few things ;)
Here was our lonely basil sprout. We recently added some company for him.
Our squash plants...yummy!
Itty bitty zucchini....cannot wait!
A squash baby =)
Corn
Dill Carrots....they did awesome!
Green beans are working hard!
I forgot to take a pic of the tomatoes. We also had 1 onion sprout...oh well better than nothing ;)  I am going to take more pics of everything this weekend. We are spending all day Saturday getting things done around the house. {That makes for one very happy wife}

The verdict is in....

In February I took a big food allergy test. It tested me for 184 foods and spices. After dealing with all of the issues with food allergies/intolerance, bacterial infections, blah blah blah I was excited about this test so that I could have more answers. I got some of those answers today.
I have been gluten free since August of 2010. {See original post HERE.} For a few months I also had to cut out diary, soy, pork, chocolate,  coffee, caffiene, & corn. With the exception of chocolate and some dairy I don't eat much of that stuff anyway. If I do it is very seldom. I live on meat, fruit, veggies, beans, rice, and some gluten free treats. I lost 30lbs on my diet, so I wasn't complaining too much ;)
Well that diet just got a little more complicated. Here are the things that I am allergic to and cannot eat:
Barley
Casein {all dairy...cow, goat, buffalo - the goat cheese is the main thing I will miss}
Gluten {no biggie, been that way for7 months already and I like it}
Oregano
Watermelon
Yogurt
Beets {had my 1st beet EVER today before I got my results, go figure!}
Flounder
Ocean Perch
Turnips
Cashews {sooooo sad}
Codfish
Haddock
Peanuts {very sad, but it is not major so I may be able to have again in a few months, same as cashews}
Wheat
Amaranth {used in Indian foods...only eaten 1x in my life 2 months ago, weird}
Hazelnut
Quinoa {very sad about this...it was a gluten free replacement for me}
Vanilla Bean
Coffee
Malt
Rye
Apricot
Cranberry {sucks!}
Lentil
Trout
Garlic {WTF??? This one just pisses me off!}
Safflower
Red Beans
Flaxseed {what? random}
Turmeric

Some of those things are so damn random, it is irritating, confusing, overwhelming, but glad to have a few answers.

To complicate things further...in August we treated 2 bacterial infections in my gut {successfully}, the doc warned me that there could be and most likely were some underlying infection(s) behind the bacteria. Well there is, a candida infection {yeast} in my gut. Lovely. Just lovely.
So because of the yeast infection I can now for the next 90 days no longer have:
any type of alcoholic beverage {thank goodness I am not a big drinker anyway}
honey {this rocks my world}
most condiments
mushrooms
olives
rice
starches
anything with bakers or brewers yeast
sugar cane
vinegar
fermented drinks/foods {this rocks my world too because we make our own kumbocha...only health nuts will know what that is haha}

Needless to say when I got home I cried! I had to get the frustration out. I know I will adjust and be just fine and healthier, but being a busy stay at home mommy of 3 active little boys does not leave me a lot of time in the kitchen. Well that is about to change. Has to. We are making these changes as a family. My husband was so supportive and said I shouldn't have to do it alone....I love him. I will be going to the farmers market every week and stocking up on the freshest fruits and veggies! Yay =) Thank goodness I can still have my green tea with stevia....losing that would send me over the edge. I am sad to see my Sweet Leaf Mint & Honey tea go though. 90 days, only 90 days.
When I told the doc that I lost 30 lbs from the initial diet changes in Aug, he said well get ready to lose more over the next 90 days...exciting - that means shopping ;) I will be back to my pre-Kadon size if that happens!!!

Oh and when the yeast is gone I will redo the test, for my own curiosity. Some people have asked me who my doc is....I go to Peoples Wellness Clinic right next to Peoples RX by Lakeline. I see Dr. Vic Carsrud and LOVE him. We are all about homeopathic treatments and I whole heartedly trust him. He is also our chiropractor. He did more for me in a week than 4 mainstream docs & thousands of $ did!

Moonshine & Ghosts

For Courtney's birthday we went to eat dinner at Moonshine {scrumptious!!!!} downtown and go on a ghost tour of Austin. It was so much fun! There were many laughs....it was much needed. Absolutely LOVE the Cardosa's....she and Brandon are long lost siblings. Two peas in a pod...very very scary ;)
Nothing but trouble!

I Heart the Farmers Market!!!

I try to go the Cedar Park Farmers Market every weekend...it doesn't always work out. I sure wish it did! The veggies are scrumptious. I am super picky about the food we eat, plus I love buying local. We also only eat local honey and I LOVE Round Rock honey. They were there last time and I stocked up HA...ya like the 64oz jar of honey?!? It made my kids laugh ;)
The count down is on for next Saturday....

Yummy Yummy!

 This boy LOVES the smoothies I make for us! {Well so does Garner, but Garner doesn't do a cute little dance at the blender anymore;)}

Popcorn for the Pup-pups

 Porter LOVES to feed our pups! I gave him some popcorn to snack on and the dogs ate it all, so I put the dogs in my room and gave Porter a new bowl. Well I walk back into the kitchen and see that he has dumped out the bowl and was putting the pieces under the door for the pups anyway! It was hilarious!!!

 The pup-pups were very excited ;)
 He then tries to unlock the door with a spoon (because that is what he sees his big bros do) so it will be easier to feed them....
 He can't open the door yet (only closes it) so he then tried spoon-feeding them under the door!
NEVER A DULL MOMENT IN MY HOUSE!!!

Turkey Day

Well...I am a month late on this post....oops. I'm a little disappointed in myself for getting so behind! Plus I can't find half of the pics I took around Thanksgiving. Oh well, this is all we got...enjoy.

Oatmeal & Burgers....

"You wanna bite?"

This boy cracks us up when he eats...always has. He is quite the eater and loves almost everything. It is fun watching them explore, especially with food =)
