This is our 3rd year to participate in St. Baldricks....it is a forever thing with us. We are so blessed to have healthy children and I thank God everyday for it! Being a part of this charity and raising $ for it is amazing. Each year is so emotional. Not just watching my boys shave, but watching everyone else too, especially the women. Some women do it to raise awareness, others are mothers of children going through it. It is a tear jerker kind of day. A few of the children at Dell going through treatment get to come outside and play with the other kids and watch. Not too many get to because they have to be well enough, so the others watch from the windows upstairs. When you look up and see all of those precious babies watching everyone get their head shaved to look like them and they smile, it does something to you.
We are usually one of the top fundraisers for that specific event....last year was over $2000. This year we only got a fraction of that, but I plan on making up for it next year =)

It is important to Brandon and me that our kids grow up knowing what it means to help others and to always do what you can. We are huge believers in helping out with charities in any way possible, St. Baldrick's just happens to be one of our favorites. I love when someone asks Kadon if he shaved his head because it is getting hot out and he responds with "no it is for kids that are sick with cancer." The look on their face is usually priceless. It is all about raising awareness and finding a cure! I am hoping that next year I will be able to volunteer to help run the event.
We are still accepting donations, if you would like to donate please let me know!
